SHINING
When your garments arrive, they will be coated in a light layer of talc. This helps seal the glue and protects the latex during shipping.
To shine your latex (as seen in our photos), you will need to apply a latex shiner. There are many brands available, but we recommend Vivishine.
First, remove the talc by rinsing your latex under lukewarm running water, or soaking it in a sink or tub for larger pieces. You can use a mild detergent / dish soap or a dedicated latex cleaner such as Viviclean.
Next, fill a tub or sink with lukewarm water and add a few drops of Vivishine. A little goes a long way — for large garments (such as catsuits) or multiple pieces, use a capful; for small lingerie items, only a drop or two is needed. Gently move the latex around in the water to ensure the shiner is evenly distributed, then leave to soak for a few minutes. Hang to drip dry.
If marks appear on your latex during the drying process, don’t worry — these are residual water marks and will disappear once the garment is fully dry.
DRESSING
For tight-fitting garments, we recommend using a dressing aid such as Pjur or Vividress. Apply the lubricant to your skin and the inside of the garment before dressing.
Alternatively, talcum powder can be used as a dressing aid by lightly sprinkling it inside the garment.
Avoid using your fingernails and be mindful of jewellery when dressing, as these can cause tears in the latex.
STORING
After wearing your latex, repeat the cleaning process to remove the shiner and hang to drip dry. Once fully dry, apply a thin layer of talc and store in a cool, dry place away from direct heat or sunlight, as these can damage or stain the latex.
Do not store dark-coloured latex next to light-coloured latex, as colour transfer may occur. Take extra care to prevent light-coloured latex from coming into contact with metal hardware such as zippers or eyelets. Nicotine, sunlight, and excessive handling can also cause staining to lighter colours, so please keep this in mind when choosing a shade.
